I have just come back from my honeymoon in Italy (where unfortunately Italian children are the most overweight in Europe). So I am back to (irregular) posting.

My company, MyPed, is looking for co-founder to take it to the next level. Here’s the specs:

Are you concerned about the health and wellbeing of children?

Looking to make a difference in the world?

Do you have sales and marketing experience?

Are you ready to ride the rollercoaster of growing a world-class, global technology company?

Willing to work for sweat equity?

Our company is developing new technology to empower kids be healthy and active.

We are looking for a passionate co-founder to work with us to build our technology company into something that will make a difference to millions of children around the world. We are looking for someone with sales and marketing experience and are “deal makers”. We are looking for some with real entrepreneurial drive and someone who can get things done! Strategic thinkers and consultants need not apply.

Seven qualities we are looking for:
1. Loyalty to the business idea (we’ll chat about this when we meet)
2. Honesty, including the ability to acknowledge errors and mistakes
3. Versatility to focus on more than one aspect of the company.
4. Connections and the ability to attract talent to the team.
5. Flexibility in the face of changing circumstances.
6. Must have previous startup experience.
7. Must have previous corporate experience.

Hi all,

I have created this blog to bring you the latest info, tips and news on kids health and fitness. My goal is to build a community of contributors to lend their voice to the discussion on childhood obesity and what we can do to improve the health of kids. I have called it “Empowering Healthy Kids” because I believe that it is up to children to make positive choices about their health and well being and it is up to parents, communities, government and business to help kids help themselves.

This blog is hosted on MyPeddy.com which is run by my company, MyPed, developing new technology designed to motivate kids to be active and hopefully setting long term behaviours. Some people have asked me why I have started this new company. My answer is this: I see the world full of problems and that we all have the power to solve them. Google’s Founder Sergey Brin once said to aspiring engineers and entrepreneurs to work on really big problems. Childhood obesity is a big problem and solving it will lift the health and well-being of children around the world.
